Technical Report: Password Change Procedure for AEI DK-9830 Document ID: AEI-DK9830-SEC-01 Device Model: AEI DK-9830 (Fingerprint & RFID Attendance Terminal) Objective: To securely update the administrator or user password on the device. 1. Scope This report applies to the AEI DK-9830 biometric device. Default passwords pose a security risk; changing them is a critical security hygiene practice. 2. Pre-requisites
Device must be powered on and at the idle (main) screen . Knowledge of the current administrator password (default is often 1234 or 0000 ). Physical access to the device keypad.
3. Step-by-Step Procedure 3.1 Enter Administrator Menu
From the main screen, press the MENU key (or M/OK ). The device prompts: "Admin Verify" . Enter the current Admin Password (e.g., 1234 ) and press OK . aei dk 9830 change password

3.3 Change the Password
Select Change Admin Password . Old Password: Enter current password → Press OK . New Password: Enter new 4–8 digit numeric password → Press OK . Verify New Password: Re-enter new password → Press OK .
3.4 Save & Exit

4. Verification
Log out (or wait for auto-logout after 30 seconds of inactivity). Attempt to access the admin menu using the new password . If access is granted, the change is successful.
