Norbit is a kind-hearted but timid man who was abandoned as a baby and raised at a Chinese restaurant/orphanage run by Mr. Wong. As a child, he befriends a girl named Kate, but they are separated when Kate is adopted.
: Norbit's life changes when Kate returns to town to buy Mr. Wong’s orphanage. Norbit realizes he is still in love with her, but there are two major obstacles: his terrifying wife, Rasputia, and Kate’s' fiancé, Deion, who turns out to be a gold-digger.
