The Motorola Radius SP10 is obsolete only by software standards, not by physical capability. It has no menus, no Bluetooth, and no distractions. It does one thing: It turns your voice into a radio wave and sends it to your buddy in the warehouse.
| Problem | Likely Cause | Solution | | :--- | :--- | :--- | | | Dead or deeply discharged battery | Battery voltage is too low. Try a known good battery. Ni-Cd cells below 1V per cell often won't charge. Replace battery. | | LED on charger stays red for 24h+ | Battery is "memory locked" or shorted | Cycle the battery 3 times (Full drain, full charge). If no change, replace the battery (Utilcell or aftermarket replacement). | | Hissing static / No voice | Wrong channel frequency or out of range | Press MON. If no voice, you are out of range. Check other users are on the same Channel (A/B). | | Can transmit but cannot hear | Volume too low or Squelch too high | Press MON. Adjust volume. If you hear static, the other radio is not transmitting. | | Others hear me as "Quiet" | Microphone hole blocked | Check the small hole below the PTT button for dirt. Blow gently with compressed air. | | Battery drains in 1 hour | Battery has reached end of life (Ni-Cd lifespan: 2-3 years) | Replace the battery. Do not use standard Alkaline batteries unless you have the AA battery case accessory. | Instruction Manual For Motorola Radius Sp10
