Set in the 1930s, the film follows , a young man who falls into a forbidden affair with Yupadee , the beautiful young wife of his uncle, Phapo . When Phapo discovers their betrayal, he enforces a literal interpretation of their vow to be together "forever" by chaining them together at the wrists. The story explores how their passionate love quickly turns into a suffocating prison.
